Triggers

  • Message receivedStarts when a customer sends a message to a business phone number — text, media, a location, a contact card, a reaction, or a tap on a reply button.
  • Messages to the business numberAnswers as an agent on WhatsApp: when a customer messages the business phone number, the agent replies in that chat.
  • Template category updatedStarts when Meta changes a message template's category, or gives 24 hours' notice that it is about to — for example reclassifying a UTILITY template as MARKETING, which changes what each send costs.
  • Template quality updatedStarts when Meta changes a message template's quality rating — for example from GREEN to YELLOW after recipients block or report messages sent with it.
  • Template status updatedStarts when Meta changes the review or lifecycle status of a message template on the WhatsApp Business Account — approved, rejected, paused, disabled, reinstated, archived, deleted and the other documented events.
