Communication

MessageBird

MessageBird is an SMS and messaging provider: you hand it a sender, a list of phone numbers and some text, and it delivers and reports back per recipient.

Authentication

  • API key

Actions

Generic API request. Call any MessageBird API endpoint on this connection, for the case where no shipped action covers it yet. The connection supplies the base URL, the authentication and the egress route, so only the path, query and body are yours to fill.

  • Create contactAdd a person to the MessageBird contact directory so later sends can address them by contact id instead of a raw number.
  • Delete messageDestructivePermanently remove a message record from the MessageBird account — use it to purge history once the delivery outcome has been read with messagebird:getmessage.
  • Get balanceCheck what credit is left on the connected MessageBird account before dispatching a batch of messages.
  • Get messageLook up one already-sent or received MessageBird message to inspect how it was delivered.
  • List contactsPage through the contact directory of the connected MessageBird account — the way to discover contact ids for later sends, or to export the directory.
  • List messagesList sent/received messages with pagination (GET /messages).
  • Send messageSend an SMS message to one or more recipients (POST /messages, JSON body).

Triggers

  • Message received (webhook)Starts the moment a text arrives on one of the account's MessageBird virtual mobile numbers, forwarded to this trigger's URL.
  • New messageStarts when a new SMS or messaging event is sent through the connected MessageBird account.
  • Texts to your numberAnswers as an agent by SMS: when someone texts one of the account's MessageBird virtual mobile numbers, the agent replies to them from that number.
