Mattermost

Mattermost is a team chat server, usually self-hosted: teams contain channels, channels contain threaded posts.

Actions

Generic API request. Call any Mattermost API endpoint on this connection, for the case where no shipped action covers it yet. The connection supplies the base URL, the authentication and the egress route, so only the path, query and body are yours to fill.

  • Create channelCreate a channel inside a Mattermost team, for example to open a dedicated room for an incident or a release.
  • Create postPost a message into a Mattermost channel, the action to reach for when notifying a team from a workflow.
  • Get channelFetch one Mattermost channel by id to confirm its team, slug and whether it is public or private before posting into it.
  • Get postFetch one Mattermost post by id to read its text and find out who wrote it and where, for example after a search returns only ids.
  • Get userFetch one Mattermost user by id to turn the userid on a post into a username and email.
  • List channel postsList posts in a channel (GET /channels/{channelId}/posts), with optional paging, or every post changed since a time.
  • List my teamsList the Mattermost teams the connected user belongs to.

  • Show typingShow "<user> is typing…" in a channel, or in one thread of it, so the people there know a reply is coming.

Triggers

  • Direct messages to the botAnswers as an agent in Mattermost direct messages: when someone writes to the connected account one-to-one, the agent replies in that conversation, and can ask them to approve a held tool call.
  • New channel post (webhook)Starts when a Mattermost outgoing webhook fires for a matching post — a chosen channel, one or more trigger words, or both — delivered by a webhook instead of polling the channel's posts.
  • New direct messagesStarts when a direct-message conversation with the connected account has new posts, once per conversation per poll, with the channel and the time window the new posts fall in.
  • New or updated channel postStarts when a post is created or edited in the chosen Mattermost channel.
  • Posts to the botAnswers as an agent in Mattermost: when someone addresses the connected account in a public channel — by trigger word or @-mention — or replies in a thread the agent is already in, the agent replies in that thread.
  • Slash commandStarts when someone runs the trigger's slash command in Mattermost — in a direct message, a private channel or any channel they are in — with what they typed after it.
  • Slash command to the agentAnswers as an agent in Mattermost when someone runs the trigger's slash command — /agent by default — in a direct message with the connected account, a private channel or any channel the account is in; in a direct message the agent can ask for approval with Approve / Deny buttons.
