Customer Support

Intercom

Intercom is a customer messaging and support tool: contacts, companies, and the conversations your team has with them.

Authentication

  • OAuth 2.0

Actions

Generic API request. Call any Intercom API endpoint on this connection, for the case where no shipped action covers it yet. The connection supplies the base URL, the authentication and the egress route, so only the path, query and body are yours to fill.

  • Attach contact to companyAssociate an existing Intercom contact with an existing company, so the contact appears on that company record and inherits its context in the inbox.
  • Create companyCreate or update a company (POST /companies, application/json).
  • Create contactCreate a user or lead in the Intercom workspace, optionally carrying your own externalid so later syncs can match the record.
  • Create conversationStart a new conversation initiated by a contact (POST /conversations, application/json).
  • Create noteAttach an internal note to an Intercom contact: staff facing commentary that the customer never sees, unlike a conversation reply.
  • Delete contactDestructiveArchive an Intercom contact, removing it from the workspace and from list and search results.
  • Get contactFetch one Intercom contact by its Intercom id to read the current email, name and other stored attributes before updating it or replying on its behalf.
  • Get conversationFetch one Intercom conversation by id to read its current state before replying or reporting on it.
  • Get current adminReturn the workspace/admin authorized by the connection (GET /me).
  • List adminsList the admins (teammates) on the workspace.
  • List companiesBrowse the companies in the Intercom workspace, typically to resolve the internal company id that Attach contact to company needs.
  • List contactsBrowse the contacts in the Intercom workspace when you need to resolve a contact id and have no search criteria.
  • List conversationsBrowse the conversations in the Intercom workspace, for triage or to resolve a conversation id to reply to.
  • Manage conversationDestructiveAssign, close, snooze, or open a conversation (POST /conversations/{id}/parts, application/json).
  • Reply to conversationPost a reply on an existing Intercom conversation, either as a public comment the customer sees or as an internal note, authored by a teammate (adminId) or by the contact (intercomUserId).
  • Search contactsFind Intercom contacts by attribute rather than by id: pass a query clause (field, operator, value) or a nested AND/OR group, for example match on email or a custom attribute.
  • Search conversationsSearch conversations with an Intercom query (POST /conversations/search, application/json).
  • Tag contactTag a contact (POST /tags with { name, contacts: [{ id }] }, application/json).
  • Update contactDestructiveChange the stored attributes of an existing Intercom contact: role, email, name, phone or your own externalid.
