Monitoring

Honeycomb

Honeycomb is where teams query event and trace data to work out why production is behaving the way it is.

Authentication

  • API key

Actions

Generic API request. Call any Honeycomb API endpoint on this connection, for the case where no shipped action covers it yet. The connection supplies the base URL, the authentication and the egress route, so only the path, query and body are yours to fill.

  • Create markerCreate a marker on a dataset to annotate events such as deploys (POST /markers/{datasetSlug}).
  • Get authReturn metadata about the API key for this connection: team, environment, and access scopes (GET /auth).
  • Get datasetFetch one Honeycomb dataset by its slug to read its settings before querying it or attaching markers and triggers.
  • List boardsList all boards (dashboards) in the environment (GET /boards).
  • List datasetsList the datasets in the Honeycomb environment this API key belongs to.
  • List markersList the deploy and incident markers on a Honeycomb dataset, the annotations drawn over query graphs.
  • List triggersList the triggers (alerts) configured on a Honeycomb dataset, to audit what is being alerted on or to find a trigger id.

Triggers

  • Alert fired (webhook)Starts when a Honeycomb Trigger (threshold/frequency alert) fires and notifies a Webhook recipient configured to use this endpoint.
  • New datasetStarts when a new dataset is created in the connected Honeycomb environment.
  • New or updated alert triggerStarts when an alert trigger (threshold/frequency alert) is created or changed on the configured Honeycomb dataset.
  • New or updated markerStarts when a marker is created or changed on the configured Honeycomb dataset.
