Infrastructure

DigitalOcean

DigitalOcean runs cloud infrastructure — Droplets (virtual machines), managed DNS, projects and account SSH keys.

Authentication

  • API token

Actions

Generic API request. Call any DigitalOcean API endpoint on this connection, for the case where no shipped action covers it yet. The connection supplies the base URL, the authentication and the egress route, so only the path, query and body are yours to fill.

  • Create domain (v1)Add a new domain to the account (POST /domains).
  • Create droplet (v1)Create a new Droplet (POST /droplets).
  • Delete droplet (v1)DestructiveDelete a Droplet by id (DELETE /droplets/{dropletid}).
  • Droplet power action (v1)DestructiveRun a power action on a Droplet — reboot, power on, or power off (POST /droplets/{dropletid}/actions).
  • Get droplet (v1)Fetch one DigitalOcean Droplet by its numeric id to read its status, region, size and networking — the way to check whether a newly created VM is up and what address it got.
  • List domains (v1)List the domains whose DNS DigitalOcean manages for the account, to confirm a domain is present before adding records to it.
  • List droplet actions (v1)List the actions that have been executed on a Droplet (GET /droplets/{dropletid}/actions).
  • List droplets (v1)List all Droplets in the account, with optional pagination and tag filtering (GET /droplets).
  • List projects (v2)List the Projects on the DigitalOcean account — the containers that group Droplets, domains and other resources — to resolve a project id before assigning resources to it.
  • List SSH keys (v1)List the SSH keys registered on the DigitalOcean account, to resolve the key id or fingerprint that Droplet creation takes for passwordless access.
