Airtable

Airtable is a spreadsheet-database hybrid: bases hold tables, tables hold records, and each record is a map of named fields.

Authentication

  • OAuth 2.0

Actions

Generic API request. Call any Airtable API endpoint on this connection, for the case where no shipped action covers it yet. The connection supplies the base URL, the authentication and the egress route, so only the path, query and body are yours to fill.

  • Create commentPost a comment on one Airtable record — the collaboration thread that hangs off a record, separate from its field values.
  • Create fieldAdd a column to an existing Airtable table.
  • Create recordsInsert up to 10 records into one Airtable table in a single call, each supplied as a fields map keyed by field name.
  • Create tableCreate a new table inside an Airtable base, defining its columns up front — fields is required and each entry names a field, its Airtable type and any type-specific options.
  • Delete recordDestructivePermanently remove one record from an Airtable table.
  • Delete recordsDestructiveRemove up to 10 records from one Airtable table in a single call — the batch form of Delete record, with the ids sent as a repeated records[] query parameter.
  • Get base schemaRead the structure of an Airtable base: every table with its id, name, primaryFieldId, field definitions and views.
  • Get recordFetch one Airtable record's current field values by record id.
  • Get user infoGet the authenticated user's id, granted scopes, and email (GET /v0/meta/whoami).
  • List basesList the bases the connection can access (GET /v0/meta/bases).
  • List commentsRead the comment thread on one Airtable record — useful for pulling human context that lives beside a record rather than in its fields.
  • List fieldsList the columns of a single Airtable table — field id, name, type and description for each one.
  • List recordsRead records out of one Airtable table — the main way to pull rows for processing and the source of the record ids the other Airtable actions take.
  • Update fieldDestructiveRename an existing Airtable field or change its description.
  • Update recordsDestructiveUpdate up to 10 records non-destructively (PATCH /v0/{baseId}/{tableIdOrName}, JSON {records:[{id,fields}]}).
  • Upsert recordsDestructiveUpdate or create records by matching on key fields (PATCH /v0/{baseId}/{tableIdOrName} with performUpsert).

Triggers

  • Base changedStarts when Airtable notifies a webhook that a subscribed base changed, so a workflow can react without waiting for the next poll.
  • New commentStarts when a new comment is posted on the selected Airtable record, detected by polling the record's comments list which the API returns newest to oldest.
  • New recordStarts when a new record is created in an Airtable table.
